Why it matters

Most "insulated" bottles on the market test poorly past four or five hours. Their walls are too thin, their seals leak heat at the threads, and their lids transmit cold to the outside surface. The Field Bottle is built to a different specification: a true double-walled vacuum cavity, an 18/8 food-grade steel inner skin, and a screw lid that seals at the threads, not at a gasket alone.

The detail

550ml of capacity — enough for a single-origin pour-over and a refill, or a thermos of chai for the office. The matte powder-coat exterior stays sweat-free in summer (the vacuum cavity prevents condensation reaching the outer skin) and warm to the touch in winter (because it doesn't conduct your drink's heat outward). Four colourways: matte gold, silver, black, deep blue.

How to use it

Daily commute, long walks, hikes, the kind of meeting where you need a real drink and not a paper cup. Hand-wash recommended (dishwasher heat eventually degrades the vacuum seal). Pre-warm with boiling water for two minutes before adding hot liquid to maximise retention.

Care

Hand-wash with mild soap. Do not put in dishwasher.
Do not microwave or freeze.
Pre-warm for hot drinks: boiling water in for 2 minutes, drain, then fill.

Will it really keep coffee hot for 12 hours?

If you pre-warm the bottle for two minutes first — yes. Without pre-warming, expect 9–10 hours of effective heat. The first 30 seconds of contact between hot liquid and a cold steel wall costs you several degrees that the insulation then has to recover.

Can I put carbonated drinks in it?

Yes for sparkling water. We don't recommend it for kombucha or other live-fermented drinks — the buildup of CO2 in a sealed bottle can cause the lid to spray when opened.

Why hand-wash only?

Dishwasher heat over many cycles can degrade the vacuum seal that does the actual insulation work. Hand-washing extends the life of the seal by years. Mild soap, soft sponge, dry inverted.

Is the powder coat food-safe?

The powder coat is on the outside only. The drink-contact surface is bare 18/8 stainless steel — the same grade used in restaurant equipment.
