A cup of coffee beside a gold-wrapped gift box — the considered, small-scale gift the right coffee person actually uses

What to Gift the Person With Strong Coffee Opinions

The hardest gift to buy is the gift for someone who's genuinely particular about something. If you don't know what they're particular about, anything you give will be obviously wrong. If you do know, the wrong choice within their interest is worse than the wrong choice outside it.

This applies especially to coffee people. Their kitchen probably already contains a grinder they spent two months researching, beans from a roaster they discovered before it was on Instagram, and at least three different brewing devices in active rotation. Anything generic is going to sit in a cupboard.

What does work, in our experience, is gifts that solve a problem they're actually having. Specifically: the problem of keeping their coffee at the right temperature for longer than it takes to walk from the kitchen to the desk, and the problem of how to express their feelings about coffee at work without using their actual voice.

For the second of those, the FTS Coffee Mug is the most efficient answer it's possible to give in plain printed gift wrap. It's a white ceramic mug with a single restrained line of black type printed once and fired into the glaze. It says the thing your colleague is mouthing on a Monday at 9:47am without their having to say it. Microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe, the print doesn't fade. Probably keep it for the personal desk rather than client-facing meetings. ₹349.

For the temperature problem, the Rochcha range has three sizes that all do versions of the same job at different scales.

The 550ml Field Bottle is the smallest and the one most coffee people gravitate to first. It fits in a bag side pocket, doesn't sweat against documents, and keeps coffee genuinely hot through the full working day if you pre-warm the bottle with boiling water before you pour (which is the small trick that almost nobody is told about and which we wrote a whole separate post on). ₹499, four colours.

The 900ml Insulated Travel Mug is the middle size. Same construction, more capacity, with a straw lid that lets you drink without unscrewing the cap. Good for the long meeting that runs to noon, or the early morning where you don't want to make the trip back to the kitchen for a refill. ₹699, five colours.

The 1200ml Travel Tumbler is the all-day option. Eight colours, fits a standard car cup holder, replaceable straw and seal so the tumbler outlasts the consumable parts. This is the gift for the person whose desk currently has three half-finished mugs of cold coffee on it.

A practical note for the gift-giver. Everything in the Rochcha drinkware range ships in plain printed packaging that doesn't really need additional wrapping. You can also send any item directly to the recipient by entering their address at checkout and putting a gift message in the order notes. We exclude the invoice from the package by default.

If the person in question already has a flask, give the mug. If they already have a mug, give the flask. There is no scenario, in our experience, where someone with strong coffee opinions has too much equipment for it.
